Friday was our five year anniversary. It’s hard to believe that much time has gone by! Every year our life together just gets better and better. Time flies! I’m so grateful I’m married to Anthony. I couldn’t get through life without his fun-loving spirit, sense of humor, ambition and never-ending support.
In our church, we believe that when we are married in the temple we are sealed together for eternity. Our marriage isn’t “until death do you part.” It’s forever and our family will be together forever. We were married in the Manti, Utah temple, and it’s a day I’ll never forget. I still remember all kinds of small details that made the day, and the ceremony, perfect and sacred.
We’re lucky that our anniversary is so close to Labor Day, which usually means a three-day weekend. This year Anthony took some extra time off work so we could have a little “staycation.” We spent time at City Creek Mall where we went out to eat (and got heavenly chocolate milkshakes), had plenty of movie and game nights and just spent time together relaxing.
On Labor Day, we decided to go explore Settlement Canyon, which is literally two minutes from our house. I have to admit, it was prettier than I expected. There’s a reservoir, picnic and BBQ areas, a playground and a few trails for hiking, horseback riding and four wheeling.
We wanted to go on a hike and the nearest trailhead was for Left Hand Fork Trail. Well, according to the map, that was also the steepest trail…haha! We didn’t do the whole route, but had a blast climbing through the woods. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy the beautiful scenery!
